Innovation and technology are big players in today’s business environment, no matter what industry. With all the choices out there - the iPhone, Droid, iPad, Blackberry, Cloud consulting, etc. – and with how quickly the technology changes, it’s easy to get lost and feel a bit of information overload. Let us catch you up on some of the most current trends and unveiling of new products that happened this week.
The Worldwide Developers Conference was held Monday June 6th and there is plenty of buzz out there already from the event. Apple unveiled its iTunes 10.3 with the iCloud at the conference. This new technology will replace their current Mobile me product. You will also be able to do more in the iCloud with pictures, books, music and more. Another cool feature unveiled by apple is the new iMessage, which enables easy texting between the iPad, iPhones, and iPods. Blackberry may not think this is “cool.” Not everyone in the tech business is sure how this new technology is going to affect the web and some of the biggest business players online.
Mashable posted a great article on their take of all this buzz from the conference. The recent article by Brenna Ehrlich outlines some of the challenges companies may now face in her article, “7 Services that Apple just Challenged or Changed.” The most notable snub everyone is talking about is that of Facebook. Apple partnered with Twitter for the iOS 5, for tweeting contacts, youtube videos, news, trends, without having to copy & paste. This could be a huge blow to Facebook. So, who will win the best technology game? I guess only time will tell.
